Evaluating the Expediency of Smartphone Applications for Indian Farmers and Other Stakeholders

Smartphone application usage has increased exponentially over the past decade. The potentiality of smartphone applications as a tool for various decision-making processes is not fully explored, especially in field agriculture. This work systematically evaluates developed by research institutes and non-profit organizations made available to Indian agriculture stakeholders, who have world’s largest user base. study analyzed 25 allied sectors farming community. usability, accessibility, frequency updates, ratings, number downloads are evaluated. Furthermore, this article assesses divergence between existing needs agricultural stakeholders. necessitates importance systematic evaluation digital end-users offers guidelines developers, researchers, policymakers on potential shortcomings prevailing warrants features future applications.
